Thank you all for your help and advice. You taught me enough to get b12 jabs not only for the 6 loading jabs over 2 weeks but 1 jab daily until no further improvement is felt by me. I was offered the 6 loading doses, but explained that there had been an update in 2014. My thyroxine has been bumped up tp 125 mg from 100mg and I'm having the bloodtests repeated as the Blue Horizon ones are different ranges, seems a waste of money to me. GP also testing for the intrinsic factor antibodies too. GP not interested in any of the other low vitamins as all within range. I shall be quite happy to deal with these myself.
Great visit with GP at new surgery! T... - Pernicious Anaemi...
Great visit with GP at new surgery! Thankyou all for the great advice, I feel like I've hit the jackpot.
I'm very very pleased for you miglet 54. Well done for persevering !
Thank you, surgery bloodtest Wednesday and instructions to self inject Thursday. See GP again on December 3rd.
Ah ha....see my reply below....if you need more B12 than your GP will prescribe (and I suspect a trial of this, at least, would be a good, to see if you can further improve your symptoms).
We can advise where to buy injectable B12 from reputable sources, if this is what you choose to do π
Great stuff! Well done.
Hi miglet54. This is fantastic news...B12 injections...and on the right regime. Hurrah. And oh how hard you must have worked to get that π.
As for the other low vitamins.....your GP is wrong to assume this does not matter (especially if folate, ferritin and vitamin D are concerned). As you well know π. If you want to post the results and reference ranges here people will be able to help with interpretation and supplementation advice.
Also - GP's often refuse to accept blood results done privately - yes, silly waste of money, different refer ace ranges should not be an issue. If your GP is i sitting on getting them done again, hope he's done a full thyroid panel and not just TSH (TSH alone does not give trus status of thyroid function).
Suggest you post your Blue Horizon thyroid results on the thyroid forum here at HU. Folks there are. Dry knowledgable and will be able to help with interpretation and advice on potential treatment, if required. (GP's often get this wrong too π).
But the main thing here is....you ha e your B12. Hurrah again ππππ
