I have a reading of 65.8 nmol/L, it seems to fall in the category of ' may be adequate ', what are good levels ? I also have low testosterone and read that good levels of vitd can help with this...any thoughts anyone ?

Nobody seems to be able to agree about desirable levels of Vit D. The Vitamin D council (who they?) seem to think we should be walking around with the stuff sloshing about in our veins. Just about everybody else thinks that your levels are OK and that levels above 75 nmol/L give no additional benefits while 125 nmol/L or more may be a cause for concern - nap.edu/read/13050/chapter/...

There is a study showing that testosterone levels might be raised in men deficient in Vit D - ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/211... - but they all started out lower than 50 nmol/L

Hi

I have been low in Vit D for some time started at 27 some months ago and they gave me some oil to take once a week. Levels risen to the heady heights of 33 nmol/l !!

They are discussing and may give me another oral solution to boost but I'm not sure that will help as i seem to not be absorbing anything much through the stomach.. Iron remains low even after infusion.

good luck

I could supplement a little for slightly higher levels but I understand that you should not continually take vitd ?
