Hi everyone I phoned my GP surgery yesterday and asked for copies of my last 2 blood test results.

The receptionist asked me why I wanted them? I told her for myself, she said I'll have to ask the doctor? within 5 minutes she called me back and said that's fine Jacqueline collect them tomorrow afternoon 😁 I'm going to collect them :) Do I post a picture of them on here? and I'm hoping you wonderful members can help.

Is there anything specific I should be looking for in my bloods? thank you xx

Hi Jacqui0x. Yes, post an image of your results...but sometimes these are difficult to read (a bit small) so, if this happens, type in the results, together with the reference ranges.

People here will be able to help you interpret the results...basically, we look for anything that is either outside of the reference ranges (top or bottom) or any results that sit within the range but that are at the top or bottom ends (i.e. high or low within the range). Sometimes, it's where the results sit within the reference range that's important.

Results have to be read over and against each other to obtain a full picture of your blood profile, so it's a bit difficult to comment on everything that you should look for in the results, especially when unsure of exactly what you have had done. So...waiting to,look at them is probably the best approach...

We'll also be able to advise if your GP has failed to test anything else that would be useful (or indeed essential) in helping you to sort out what's going on with your health.

And incidentally, why you want the results is absolutely nothing to do with the receptionist...but she's doing the print-outs now, so that's all that really matters. Just a shame that she did not know that patients have a right to copies of their blood results...but she does now 😀.

We'll be looking out for your post 👍

Hi there Foggyme :) Got them but seriously I don't have a clue 🙈 the only one I understand is B12 serum level in January was 105 and in October it's up to 311, another test I had in January that has Abnormal market at the top was Glucose 6.1? I don't even know what that is? I'll try and upload and see if anyone can make sense of them. thank you xx
