I think I get these too but since having B12 injections they have gone so you might find the same. Like your my doctor had no idea, didn't check B 12 levels and generally is nice but dim.

I had these before B12. They had always gone by the time I got an appointment so I couldn't ask. From research, I think it might be something to do with blood platelets being affected by deficiency, but I'm not an expert.

Could it possibly be ringworm? An antifungal cream from Tesco (like Canesten) should fix it if it is. Since I've had my diagnosis I've had several fungal infections. They soon cleared up with some cream from the doc (antifungal + steroid).

Have you had any flu-like symptoms, because it looks quite like the rash from Lyme Disease?

Doesn't look anything like a rash from Lyme Disease!

Lyme Disease doesn't give you a rash. A Tick bite may give a rash (it doesn't look like that), which may lead to Lyme Disease...

doctordecides.com/lyme-dise...

The very first line reads -

Lyme disease is a peculiar skin rash which has a circular appearance

The site has many pictures of this rash. The target-like appearance is what first alerted me to the possibility. This image, in particular, looks very similar to the one Peggylally66 posted.

I was told to look out for such a rash when I started archery, as there are lots of ticks in the field we shoot in - and I used to shoot in shorts.

Look, I'm not here to argue.

When OP asks "could this be B12 deficiency", the rational question is "what is your B12 level".

I know you were trying to help, but on the basis of that poor lo-rez pic, you offered 2 causes. Just looks like a bruise to me, but I wouldn't comment on such a poor photo.

The problem with offering that type of information is it can cause panic & for some to go off & start treating themselves.

I had a Tick bite 20 years ago. I had a massive "target" rash, absolutely unmistakable. I couldn't move my arm for 3 days & was bloody painful. I went to hospital & was referred (this was in Heidelberg btw, where it's apparently a Lyme hotspot...), had some jabs & recovered. Years later, when I was feeling tired, I started to search & discovered a few deficiencies (Thyroid, B12, Zinc) & I stumbled on a Lyme disease forum. I have never witnessed such a bunch of raving nut jobs in my life!!!!! Yes, Lyme is real & dibilitating (if you've got it!), but people self diagnosing & procuring Anti-Biotics and advising others to take piles of Antibiotics!!!

Really dangerous advice! Frightening.

The best advice for OP is that she ask the GP to refer her to a skin specialist for proper diagnosis.

In the meantime, better photographs would help and B12 level.

fbirder definitely not ringworm or Lyme. They are under the skin, & exactlu like a bruise only red. I know I am getting a new one when I get a stinging feeling beforehand then hours later this appears

fbirder definitely not Lyme or ringworm. They are exactly lik bruises only red. They don't change to blue/yellow like bruises do.they just fade .I can usually tell when a new one is coming as I get a stinging feeling

Ah good, so you are being treated.

Has your GP referred you to a specialist?

A better pic would be useful. Just looks like a bruise to me, but I'm sure you & your GP would recognise that.

I'd just say be very careful of Internet diagnosis! It's a knowledgeable/sensible bunch on here, but there are some nuts out there.

Not suggesting you would follow mad advice, but plenty do, sadly.

Good luck!

Yes, definitely not a rash..I've not had any more sine I've haf 2x injections. I'm sure it's linked. Perhaps to do with platelets as Frodo mentioned
