Hi there I am new on here. My hubby was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer spread to his liver on 23rd December 2019. We are still in a stunned state. We found this news via a much pushed for by me CT scan via our GP.
Now we are waiting to get a date for next week for a needle extraction biopsy on hubby’s liver.
Eating has been a struggle. Taking Conplan, forte sips milkshake and yogurt style. Managing toasted milk loaf with lightly poached egg. The odd tangerine.
Has anyone got any advice on food which will not bloat please?
Hubby is now on Creon l enzyme tablets that help a little. That seems to help with the rumbling and less gas.
Any advice given on our road ahead is greatly appreciated and much needed.

So sorry to hear about your husband. Have they given any indication on treatment. I had the Whipple op 3 years ago now. Food was and still is difficult. Best to just try little and often if possible. I have developed pancreatitis post op also. Fat, alcohol and hard to digest foods tend to stress my pancreas and I’ve been told to avoid anything which causes the remaining pancreas to work hard. I’m veggie but red meat is one of the difficult ones! PCUK has a good website and forum but even better, excellent and incredibly helpful specialist nurses who you can contact by phone or email with any queries at all. Please do try them. I’m also part of a closed Facebook site, UK Whipple Warriors, for those with or without P Cancer who have or may have Whipple surgery. Lots of them have had or currently have mets. It’s a very friendly and supportive group who will happily give advice, support or just be there for a rant or cry!! You can ask to join and someone will certainly have been or currently is facing similar. Hope that helps a little
Hi Skip, thank you for your helpful advice. I have just applied to register with PCUK.

My mom was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer stage 4. She complained at first of bloating and painful belching. She finds relief with over the counter gas x. Also, we discovered she became lactose Intolerant and that was where aot of the bloating was coming from, so she takes lactaid for that. She's doing chemo treatments.
Hi Elsie-Irwin. May I point you to another fantastic site PCUK.org.uk
There I have found a great deal of sound advice and the Pancreatic Specialist Nurses are truly a massive help. You can email or ring to speak to a specialist nurse .
