Hi everyone, it is me again. It is an update on my PIP appeal. I got a phone call today from DWP, 30 minutes before, which was so wrong, which I told her that they should give you longer than that. She was a decision maker and she went through my appeal, what I had said and if my condition had got worse which it obviously had. She told me that my care would stay at standard rate and I wasn't entitled to mobility. I asked her why I couldn't get it because my hands are bad and I can't use them doesn't mean that I can get help. I received enhanced rate care 2 years ago and they reduced it even though both of my hands I can't use them anymore. In the end after a lengthy conversation, she upped my points but I am now 1 away from enhanced rate which is very cruel. She has however given me back my mobility, I can't walk properly and I have now had to buy a bungalow because I can't use stairs anymore. She has now given me enhanced rate mobility which I should have received before but she couldn't understand why it was taken off me in the first place. A letter that I sent to the tribunal from the Walton Centre in Liverpool helped me. The report states exactly what I told her. She had to get it from the tribunal to check what I was saying was correct. I can't believe I have actually got what I should have in the first place plus it is backdated. All this stress hasn't helped me but at least I have got what is rightly mine. Anyone who is having problems with PIP persevere with it. I did and I got it.
PIP APPEAL: Hi everyone, it is me again. It is... - Pain Concern
PIP APPEAL
congratulations and well done! It really does pay off if you persevere.
Thank you for sharing and well done . It is like getting blood out of a stone . Such cruelty to disabled people yet they are spending billions on other things .
Aww thank you, it makes my blood boil, it is such a hard benefit to get and I feel so sorry for people who just can't get it no matter how hard they try. They always pick on the disabled and elderly, we don't fight back like other countries do. That is what we should do, then they might just listen and stop spending extra money on stupid things.
Odd answer....'they always pick on the disabled/....PIP IS a disabled benefit onlt
PIP eligibility you are aged 16 or over. you have a long-term physical or mental health condition or disability. you have difficulties doing certain everyday tasks or getting around. you have had these difficulties for at least three months and expect them to last for at least another nine months.
Why I said that was, it took me years to get the benefit because I am disabled. They try not to give it to disabled people. Eg, my friend is very similar to me with a lot of the same problems, she can't get it, so they have picked on her. The decision maker told me that because I receive help from my husband to dress, undress, wash and do most of my daily living, I don't meet the criteria. She said there are aids to help me, I have looked for these so called aids and they don't exist for what I need them for. Now that is picking on the disabled, AND elderly as my husband has found out.
