Any recommendations regarding ice machines? Posting from US. Using Ice packs presently for burning , searing pain on quad / IT band.. Ice packs tend to melt losing coldness from heat at affected areas. Thanks

I’ll be honest I’ve never heard of icing machine here in uk. I’ve used ice packs reasonably effectively.

I use Epsom salts to soak my burning feet with great results so you could try soaking your quads in the bath just look up how much Epsom salts to add to how much water you have in your bath. Good luck!

My husband used an ice machine post knee replacement, it certainly helped with pain levels and sped up the healing process. These machines are used by our rugby/football and other sports people here in the UK. Here’s a link to it gameready.com/rent-game-ready/ wishing you luck 😃

I have seen machines that give you continuous cold (had it with ACL surgery) very expensive and doubtful as a non- medical professional you could buy it… never know.

I have had painful pudendal neuralgia for 15 years. I was sitting on ice and then I was sitting on gel ice packs. The problem is our body temperature makes them thaw.

I had to use a small cooler to fill up with 6-7 gel ice packs whenever I went out for over six years. That cooler contained meds as well AND after years of carrying it everywhere I developed tendonitis in my right arm.

A very kind pharmacist suggested I try these pain patches as a replacement to ice. I’ve applied them to my right lower buttock for years. Apparently we shouldn’t be icing our skin for any longer than 15 minutes at a time. Just a suggestion.

Pain patches that replace ice. Work for two hours at a time.
