I wrote on here just before Christmas about the excruciating pain I have in my left leg which left me hardly able to walk. I had an MRI just before Christmas and received results from doctor yesterday. I have some wear and tear in my back as he put it. So I asked what that meant, arthritis in the spine. Also pinched nerves at the side of spine. Funnily enough on the left side yet it is my right leg that is causing the problem. Well I have 30/500 cocodamol which I only take 2 of each day and the 8/500 4 of each day. Though I still have some pain I can walk about. The doctor did not want me to have the stronger meds yet because of side effects. The 30/500 he said to take as and when I need them. I may take extra when going out for a meal on hubby’s birthday and meeting my friends for coffee. I have not been able to do that since November. Well it seems I will have to see how it goes as no cure just painkillers though he did say walking is a must as that will help. I am just glad to know what caused the pain. A bit late but Happy New Year to you all.

Leg Pain part 2
It does help to know what is wrong even if there is no cure! I agree that moving about does help with arthritis pain.
Hope you enjoy your meal out and meeting with your friend. It is good to have things to look forward to.
Hi, there might be no straightforward cure but there's a lot you can do to ease the burden of chronic pain, and I don't mean dodgy drugs and devices! You should be referred to your local pain management service, and it's very well worth spending time searching the web. Here's one great resource: facebook.com/groups/6958233...
I have an awful lot of back troubles/ pain, I have two poodles to walk and I can honestly say that if I hadn’t kept up walking them and around my home I would have stiffened up like a board by now, Movement, exercises, walking , as much as you can. I wish you well and luck. 😊
you might want to request access to teh actual MRI report rather than just going on the word of the doctor, especially if they are using vague language.
When I got my report it didn't say age related wear and tear, it said spondylolisthesis which is different. This made a difference to the physio I got.
Osteoarthritis is no longer considered to be 'wear and tear', there is more to it than that!

It shows how these things are multifactorial, they are not caused by just one thing.
have you tried wearing surgical stockings maybe they will help
Hey, I have 3 polapsed discs and by consultants words should not be able to walk far but I just peer through. Pain killers do very little now and tried cbd and all the usual stuff. The pain clinic was full of a lot of holistic type stuff and no use. If you have funds try see a sports specialist in back pain, buy a really good mattress. Buy or get from your phsio a small pedal like machine you use while watching tv to keep your legs moving. If you start to give up the pain doubles.
