Has anyone out there experienced a sudden sharp really uncomfortable pain under the left area at the top of their stomach?
I finished eating a meal of chicken & mashed potatoes over 3 hours ago nothing else since so what on earth is causing this pain? I’ve recently had stomach scan Ct scan chest xray & echocardiogram all ok so what else can I have checked? Could it be indigestion? But why would it happen out of the blue!
Can anyone offer me any advice please?

I had some problems with potatoes and abdominal pain. Potatoes start to digest in your mouth with some of the enzymes in your saliva, but those enzymes are killed by the acid in the stomach. The rest of the potato digestion happens in the small and large intestine. So if the pain came 3 hours after eating it could be that your intestine microbiome wasn't ready to digest the potato.
I experimented by chewing mashed potato. keeping it in my mouth as long as possible. I didn't have abdominal pain when I did that. So experiment with different things. Have the same meal only with boiled or chipped potatoes and see if it happens again. Have chicken and rice to see if it happens again. Experiment, but make sure you only change one thing at a time.
