I posted the other day about my big toe after having nail removed. I’m on day 4 antibiotics and the dr saw it yesterday and said healing well . It feels so tight and the tip is so red . I’m not convinced all is ok with it

Have you been told to bath it in salt water? I had an infected ingrowing toenail which was partially removed. I had weekly visits to local podiatry clinic to check it. She advised me to boil the water first and not to use tap water and add tablet salt. I used sea salt and added tea tree oil.Hope it starts to heal soon

don't forget that there will be some redness and swelling as part of the healing process. The way I think of it is with Pacman. The ghosts are all the debris and infection as well as the molecules that deliver various things to heal the wound, and Pacman goes around eating all the bad stuff to get rid of it, but also eating the packages of good molecules that will help Pacman heal the wound. That means there is a whole lot of stuff going on in there that is Good Stuff and that will make it feel a bit hot and stretched. If it is slowly getting better then that is healing well. If it is getting worse and you end up with a fever, then time to talk to the dr again.
