Hi I was wondering how do you all cope with the pain and do you take other meds for it.
Pain a lot : Hi I was wondering how do you all... - Pain Concern
Pain a lot
I take painkillers.
Opioids, Ibuprofen, paracetamol, naproxen. Depending on how bad the pain is ,I take different combos.
Mindfulness is also some help, but not if the pain is too severe.
A lot depends on what kind of pain you suffer from.
I was prescribed Etodolac (pain) and Methocarbamol (muscle spasms) for lower back pain, but trying not to take as much since I’m getting a “permanent-ish” spinal cord stimulator tomorrow. Hopefully it works. Scared, but trying to be calm about it. Otherwise, acetaminophen, but not a lot, I have a fatty liver too.
I have been using Butrans and Celebrex, but I also use mindfulness, jacuzzi and stretching routine recommended by my physical therapist. You may be able to enroll in a pain clinic where they teach how to cope. There are many simple things that you can do that add up to significant relief.
I take loads of pill daily... not good
Hi how come
Hi Petrina, I have damaged vertebrae and discs and trapped sciatic and femoral nerves for over 10 years now. I take Opiods, Naproxen, Amitrypraline, Paracetamol and a couple of others and I also have a spinal cord stimulator fitted.
To help cope with pain I asked my GP to refer me to physio as it had been 5 years since I saw one and that helped me create a morning routine to get me moving after sleep. I also started my own version of meditation (dark room, noise cancelling headphones, classical music).
But it's also worth remembering that's its OK not to cope well with pain now and then and not beat yourself up about it. If you have a partner talk to them when this happens and they can help you get over this 'hump', if you don't have a partner try another family member or friend. If you want to have a cry then do it (I'm a 50 year old male and don't mind admitting that this has been me on occasssion).
Good luck.
Hi I am on morphine tablets and liquid that I take at night for the brake pain .
