Costochondritis and pain when I’m breathing ,triggered every time I walk uphill

A few weeks ago after a respiratory infection I started getting pain by my ribs when walking and it was getting painful to breathe . I was put on naproxen for a couple of weeks and it did start to help as the pain was easing , I finished the medication and due to being by my dads side in hospital for 5 days I haven’t been walking up and down the hill to take my daughter to and from school which is up quite a steep hill . . Sadly my dad passed away Friday night so this week I’m back to walking to and from the school and after just a few days now I’ve started getting the same pain again and almost immediately it was painful when I was breathing in. I need to walk to the school as I don’t drive , we only live 10 minutes away . Do many others have pain when breathing with costochondritis and if so how do you cope or what do you do ? It’s a new symptom for me and is proving difficult to manage .

Naproxen didn't agree with me so i used ibuprofen gel on the specific pain area.. you could give this a go?

I’ve tried it and didn’t help much , I use a deep freeze gel which does help but not with the pain caused when I breathe and when I’m walking uphill .
