On 18th September I was suddenly hit with debilitating shoulder and neck pain which has gotten worse. I've had this before in May and it didn't go away for around 3-4 weeks but I don't remember it being so bad to the point that it was making me cry, unable to sleep or sit. I've tried Naproxen, Nurofen etc, nothing touches the pain. I'm on week 2 now and feel extremely helpless and in agony. I do sit at my desk almost every day and my posture isn't the best but I didn't think it could cause this level of pain.
My spine hurts when pressed and I feel like there is something very tight in my shoulders making me unable to relax them, they feel hard and I feel sore almost everywhere in my upper back. The best way I can describe it is it feels like someone got a hammer and hit my spine several times over and over.
Has anyone felt like this before? And approx how long does it take to resolve?

I am due to start physio in 2 weeks time so hopefully......
I have tendonitis of the shoulder never knew i could be in this much pain. Its actually the tendons in my chest near the shoulder and we have tendons every where. Ice + strongest gel form anti inflammatory for area that hurt really get it into the right place.
See your Gp again and do a referral to physio if Gp thinks it may help you
Go to the doctor might have a pinched nerve my husband had this happen in his shoulder poor guy was in hideous pain until his physical therapist pulled his shoulder back until he cried and has been fine ever since.
