nefopam tablets
Sorry Sascha2 but I've been on Nefopam for over a year and had none of those symptoms and checked my info slip and not mentioned as side effects. Honestly it sounds more like an infection, when I have a UTI that's when I'm boiling but shaking & sweating, but don't always have the need to pee every second. I get UTIs a lot due to bladder issues caused by CES so not aware I need to pee. Could it be an infection rather than the Nefopam causing this?
Hi Sacha, I don't know anything about nefopam but if you have a thermometer please check your temperature. If it's raised then get in touch with a doctor. I thought I should say that as there have been times I've been ill with a high temperature and it didn't cross my mind to get the thermometer out. Also make sure you drink plenty of fluids. It doesn't have to be water all the time as long as you drink more than usual and obviously not alcohol. I don't think you're silly but I know we often don't think straight when we have a high temperature. Good luck, I hope you feel better soon.
I found this but contacting you healthcare provider as soon as possible is advised.
Side Effects
Nefopam Hydrochloride is generally well tolerated. However the most common side-effects are nausea, nervousness, dry mouth, lightheadedness and urinary retention. The less common side-effects are vomiting, blurred vision, drowsiness, sweating, insomnia, headache, confusion, hallucinations, tachycardia and aggravation of angina.
Yes, I've had the exact same Sascha2 - feeling like I have ice running through my veins but sweating profusely at the same time! Also when I wake up in the morning I have the shakes so bad I can barely function until I've taken my first dose of the day. I've only been on them for about 6 weeks and this has been happening since week one. I've persevered hoping the side effects would back off, but it actually appears to be getting worse, and is barely touching the pain I'm taking them for, but I've been told these were a last resort so not really sure what to do next
Yes. I have been taking them for 2 months and have exactly the same as you. It's awful and I can't cope with the boiling hot sweatiness and shakes and cold hands and feet!! I am going back to the doctor's tomorrow - I think I'll ask to go back to paracetamol & dihydrocodeine and suffer the pain.
