Hi, I am close to transferring from childrens to adults for my crps and I was wondering what type of infusion type treatments there are. I have asked my pain consultant about lidocaine or ketamine infusions before and she said they only did them in intensive care (not for me). Has anyone ever had infusion treatments from the NHS for crps?

Treatments for CRPS
Yes I had a lidocaine infusion on NHS. You do have a nurse with you the whole time watching you in case you have a bad reaction. I didnt, just went very cold. I was pain free for 3 weeks afterwards but the pain did then slowly return to same level as before. The treatments are expensive and not easy to get on NHS. I was only allowed one treatment. It was done in the theatre recovery room. The anaesthetist/pain consultant sets it up and returns to check on you at the end. You are conscious throughout but very sleepy for a couple of days afterwards and I had a headache for a few hours. The infusion itself takes about an hour and I was at the hospital for less than 3 hours in total. If I could have another infusion, I would definitely accept. Good luck.
