Ulcer
Yes bonjela is very good and a good antiseptic mouthwash helps. A salt water mouth wash helps. Drink plenty of water . You can eat plenty of soups and porridge for breakfast. They say mouth ulcers can be a sign that your very run down. Maybe get checked out with your GP . These mouth ulcers should calm down soon . Good luck 😉
Thanks rabbits65, I’ve bin doing salt and water gargles yes. But I was advised that milk helps too. Have you heard of that helping?
I have what you call lichen planus oral, (Oral lichen planus may appear as white, lacy patches; red, swollen tissues; or open sores. These lesions may cause burning, pain or other discomfort) I'm just wondering if anyone out there has this and what I could take to make it feel better. So, I'm wondering if what you (Junny1) have is the same thing I have.?
Yes I agree, a mouthwash works for me too, if it’s too strong ( hurts) dilute with water. Hope it works for you too, I know the sores are really painful…
Bonjela will definitely help. Saltwater will be as good as a mouthwash, mix 1 teaspoon in a pint of warm water. Some mouthwashes can stain your teeth if used for a prolonged time. Saltwater won't do that.
For me it was a sign of low B12 but it can be any of the B vitamins, or iron, or an unidentified food intolerance like gluten or dairy. Please don't supplement B12 or folate without getting tested because supplementing either will skew the results making it very hard to confirm a deficiency. It isn't easy to get a diagnosis anyway, so you don't need to do anything to make it harder! If you have an obliging GP you could ask for B12, folate, a full iron panel (4 tests) and Coeliac! The NHS website kindly lists B12 and iron deficiencies under 'mouth ulcer causes that you can't always control' ! Also mentions genes. In my family, the ulcers go hand in hand with the B12 deficiency and/or PA and yes, ours is genetic (so the serum level looks 'ok' but it isn't getting into the cells) - which means it has taken years of investigation by us to join the dots over 5 generations to date. B12 usage is highly genetic (about 60%). Makes you want to scream. Best wishes
My small suggestion is take curd is a right option. It will supports to heal your mouth ulcer. I always take curd food whenever I face Mouth ulcer.
In the past I have gargled with diulated hydrogen peroxide and it helped also rinced lozenges Hope it helps
My husband suffered from mouth ulcers, some the size of a 20 pence, all his life, it turned out to be coeliac disease. His GP prescribed Difflam spray, it really helps take the pain away and helps heal them. Bonjela was useless compared to this. It’s marketed for sore throats and you can buy it over the counter.
