I was diagnosed with arthritis when I was in college at 18 years old. I was given the big injections at wrightinton hospital if anybody has been there. Was bad for months and it came Asma went for a few years. I’m now 41- and Ive more or less forgotten what arthritic pain is, so Im wondering if this sudden constant pain in my wrist and around my hand could be a flare up? And I have a feeling it’s going up my elbow. I have a feeling it is. It’s been years and I’m in methotrexate injections

Hi, yes it probably is as it doesn’t go away. You need to keep your hands and wrists warm. I use Volterol on my hands at night, because I’m not moving my hands in the night, the pain used to wake me up! From UK. xx
Hi. I have the exact same symptoms as you have, I have arthritis in my right hand but I have also developed Carpal Tunnel Syndrome which affects your hands, wrists and can go up to your elbow. I had tests at the hospital which comfirmed this. It took 18 months to get a diagnosis due to lock downs, Covid etc. The trouble is though because my diagnosis was too long it has made my condition much worse and now I need an operation, if they had found it earlier I could have just taken medication. My advice to you is see hopefully a doctor, tell them your symptoms, and hopefully they will be able to sort it out a lot quicker. All the very best to you. x
O no that’s very disappointing isn’t it that waiting so long Caused the problem to worsen. I just keep thinking the gp will be useless cos it’s pain in one hand.. the hospital doctors obviously understand more. Thanks for your reply
I have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in one hand and Tensynovitis in my thumb. I had to go through my GP because the hospital doctor's don't want to know. I tried this and they said have you seen your GP to get a referral, I hadn't so they wouldn't see me, even though I was in severe pain. If you have an understanding doctor this is what I would do. Good Luck.x
