Scared
Phone your doctor tomorrow morning. Some neck pains can last a long long time . Check your pillow and bed mattress too they may be due for new ones. Ask a family member if possible to give it a very gentle rub . Keep it warm . Wear a scarf around your neck . No draughts . I used to get a lot of bad necks . A good quality pillow and expensive bed mattress improves things . Your be ok 😊
Simple solution to your worrying, Stop Doctor googling, A cording to them My COPD is at a peak and i could expire any time now .... A BIG NONO.
Now be cleaver and gee your GP and if he doesn't know he will refer you to a ma who does.
All done with a little effort and stress free .. Simples
Get a neck massage
I would change my pillows first, how many do you use, I had this problem before but I was using two sometimes three pillows I only use the one now and have never looked back .
Get a deep tissue upper back and neck massage. And yes make sure your mattress and pillows are ok.
If it persists or gets any worse I would go to your GP and get it checked out especially if you start to have other issues like numbness in your hands or start to drop things.
If in UK. Please call NHS line on 111. If they think it’s needed, they’ll refer you to a walk in centre. I was on my bike Friday, relaxed in a park in evening, then had severe itching on left side of head, thought I’d got bitten by insects in the park, it was a warm evening in London. Had trouble sleeping due to pain. Woke up following morning and discovered a lump in my neck. I am the opposite of a Hypochondriac. But was concerned about the lump and pain in neck that affected sleep. So I’m not registered with a doctor, so called 111. After describing symptoms, they told me to go to an urgent care centre at my local hospital within 6 hours. I was now really worried. It turns out that because I had chickenpox years ago, what I thought was insect bites and possibly throat or oral cancer (the lump) turned out to be shingles, which is pretty common if you’ve ever had chickenpox, and not serious. I was prescribed an antiviral treatment of tablets by doctor and my concerns and worries alleviated. But please don’t worry. I sleep exactly the same as you Nicky. And discovered that people who sleep on their front should use a light, thin pillow. I used to use 2 plump pillows, then 1. Then discovered using one thin, light pillow stopped me getting neck pain after sleep
Hi Nicky first you need an x-ray to check whats going on. So see or speak to your doctor as soon as possible and then you will know what to do. Meanwhile i use heated wheatie bags on neck to reduce pain. Good luck Biddied x
