I'm sorry for your trouble. Have you been referred to a pain management service?

Keep asking questions of the medical establishment or they'll let you carry on in pain. Maybe try alternative therapies like acupuncture.🤩

I have been living wth chronic pan for 2+ years following shingles in January 2019 which has left me with PHN (post herpetic neuralgia pain) which is in the whole area of my RH rib cage front and back so not the same as your pain nor for as long, presumably. I have tried some pain killers but have not found anything that really works so the only thing I take now is 30 mg Amatriptilyne which I take about an hour before I go to bed. It doesn’t help with the pain but it seems to enable me to sleep which is a blessing, I have tried a wide range of alternative/complementary therapies and also topical treatments but have not found anything which really works. The Pain Matters organisation has a lot of suggestions of ways to manage your pain and also the Facebook site Chronic Pain Champions. Some people have found things that work for them but .I have to be careful what I take as I am already taking a lot of meds for a heart condition. I hope you find ways to help with the pain. 🙏

In addition to the organisations that Crystalbowl has mentioned there is also the Pain Toolkit website that has a lot of resources on it. paintoolkit.org/pain-tools

Hi, I am so sorry that you are having to deal with this pain. I am sure it takes a lot out of you both physically and mentally. I am curious if they have tried Pregabalin (Lyrica)? I take it for leg pain of unknown origin and I understand that it was developed for shingles pain. I wish you the best and please reach out to those you trust and care for. Don't try to deal with it alone.
