Hi I'm new here, I've just been searching for pain help and advice, I've hit rock bottom with pain, and I can't cope , I've had several blood tests ecg and xray, which were all ok bar bloods showing inflammation in which it as got to be repeated towards the end of may, I also my heart beat is resting 95/105, which is all I feel, the pain I'm having is at the upper side ribs , lower shoulder blades, breasts and chest, I'm litrally crying every day with pain and missrable and that isn't me,this as been on going since november, I was given narproclin yesterday and been having anitriplin at night , also tried nelopam coadamal neither work, I've been told to ring my gp and ask yet again for pain management, and to be referred to a bone and muscle specialist, the pain is a constant pressure, hurts more when I breath in, making me short of breath, and gets sharper, if anyone could help I would forever be in debt of them
Chronic upper torso pain : Hi I'm new here, I... - Pain Concern
Chronic upper torso pain
Gd evening tattsjo,I know you're in loads of pain all over but, this is my personal opinion,I hate the idea of taking more than 1 different type of painkiller.youre hurting a lot but even taking 2/3 different painkillers, they are not touching the sides. If you use your favoured painkiller or even better still, paracetamol, then you could attack your pain upto 4 times per day, with 2 each time till your pain begins to settle a bit.You could also try to get some physiotherapy, they would understand your particular pain issues better than a gp.Also, you could try out a tens machine or a muscle massager to attack your pain that way.I hope some of this helps cos I know its no fun when you're aching all over and it feels like nothing is working.Gd luck OK.
Thanks hun, I've stuck to naproxen twise a day and anitriplin before bed, it seems to be maintaining me at the mo, I've got repeat blood test on the 24th then a referral to a muscle and skeletal specialist if nothings found through there then it could be fibromyalgia, although I had a very bad accident 3 years ago and cant help but think it could be recurring issues
Hi there I have the same symptoms and can’t get help from NHS they just check for heart attack and if it’s clear they say could be viral and discharge me
but lately i’ve realised it could be either esophageal spasms or Costochondritis or a mix of both i’d suggest you have a read about them and see what you think
good luck
Hello, you mentioned that inflammation was mentioned from your nhs tests, as you know there are over the counter medications available and the pharmacy will advise on them.Have you tried any of the following.
Warm salt bath twice a dry so you would add 2 cups of table salt to your bath water warm but not Hot relax if you can for about 20 mins
Try a plant based eating plan for a few days. Lay on you bed for a short time several times a day thinking of your most enjoyable periods of your life.
Do a session of laying down dancing (see the movie Gregory's girl) each day
All of the above will give you relief you also consider making a battle plan to fight chronic pain.
Remember you are not alone in your battle with pain. Jim
Have they checked your gallbladder or appendix? My hubby was in miserable pain with his gallbladder and me with my appendix that was a nightmare of pain and inability to eat, everything made me sick.
It could be Costochodritis which is pain and inflammation of the sternum. I use a backpod which you can buy from backpod uk which has helped me.....
Can that travel all around your upper torso though?, I have had that before in the centre of my chest, horrible to, and not heard of backpod , il look that up now thank you
You can place it where ever you want. Have a look on their website backpod.co.nzThe company is called Bodystance Ltd. I use mine 2-3 times a week and am now pain free after many years of not knowing if I was having heart trouble....
