PAIN AND SORE RIB CAGE ALL OVER

SickofhavingNausea profile image

Im 25 male

yesterday I started getting stabbing pains under right shoulder blade and worse when I breathe in and out.

Today I woke up with the same pain and now its also the other side of back.

Most of my ribs on side and back are extremely tender and sore to touch

I have do nothing to cause this pain its same by it self

I did have slight back ache for a weeks prior but nothing like this with the ribs

I have also been having pains in my lower back and hips and waiting MRI for that but they seem to think I could be sciatica or slipped disk on going for 4 months

I went yesterday to a walk in centre and doctor refer me to the a and e where I had a ecg.bloods, and chest x ray which was all clear and normal, And suggested could be "Muscle" but find that very hard to believe when its now travelling and all my ribs are tender and almost feel like they will spasm if I make them tight

Anyone have any idea what it could be or how I can help my self with it

It sounds like something I have called Costochondritis (probs not spelled right) yours seems worse than what I get but I would take a look into it. Hope it gets better soon.

Since you have been checked out - had an Xray ECG etc. It may well be muscle pain. The intercostal muscles between the ribs can generate a lot of pain, spreading across the chest and upper back.

You have a history of pain that seems to be spreading - hips, lower back then upper back to shoulder blades to ribs. This happens because if one bit of your body is sore you will adjust your posture to avoid the pain but this causes the stress to move and so another bit gets sore, and on and on, the body becoming increasingly imbalanced and tense.

How is your posture? Have you been avoiding painful movements - consciously or subconsciously? Do you feel physically balanced or is your body feeling tense? Are you physically aligned - can your feel your midline anatomy forming a straight line (start with the 3 midline markers of the pubic symphysis of the pelvis, navel (bellybutton) and xiphoid process of the sternum - imagining them forming a long straight line) or can you feel twists and rotations in your posture?

The way to make corrections and reduce the stress on the wrong muscles is to work with the right muscles - the 5 main muscles of movement. starting with your Base-Line. Pelvic floor Base, rectus abdominis Line. Activating your pelvic floor and activating and extending your rectus abdominis muscles, section by section from pelvis to chest as you breathe in. Your Base-Line muscles are your core pillar of strength from where the rest of the body extends. Working with these muscles is the key to improving posture and reducing the stress and pain on the rest of the body.

If you have any questions feel free to ask.
