I am experiencing strange pain on my right hip somewhere in between of my right hip cheek. It is quite acute at times and I learned it might be sciatic pain.
Of course I need to see the doctor but wondering if anyone did yoga, exercise or something of that sort to get rid of pain?
Thank you

Please see a doctor. I suffer from sciatica and also hip bursitis. Depending on the bursa that is affected the pain can be on the outer or inner leg. However it can be in the bum cheek and radiate down the leg.
Hello Sudhamother, I thought u only get sciatica in your neck and shoulders, which I have and it can be quite severe which I take Amitriptyline tablets, but didn't know u could get it in the hips also.
I do get alot of pain in my hips but I thought it's due to my Osteoarthritis and it's very very painful.
Hi, yes Yoga and Pilates exercises can help with the pain. I suffer with sciatic also and yes it is very painful in the back, bottom and down the leg. I do two exercise daily and that is Pilates exercises. ( I hope you can get down to the floor) as I find it hard to get up again but
No 1 is lie on the floor bring your legs up to the chest and rock then try and straighten out your legs and bring it back again.
No 2 get down on all fours, like a hands on the floor and knees on the floor and first sink your back and then elevate your back . Both may hurt at first but persevere. I think the second is called a cat stretch. Look up Pilates exercises for sciatica or how to do the cat stretch properly on the net or you tube. Hope it helps. I know it is very painful
It could also be your hip so try to get an x-ray done but it most likely sciatica. The longer the pain persists more likely to be untreatable. You probably won't need major surgery but my back was damaged which just got worse and caused permanent damage. Look into having an IDET done. Exercise helps a lot!!! I did yoga and found doing abdominal exercises on a balance ball to be most effective. There is a muscle that is a natural brace. So the stronger your abdominal muscles the stronger the "natural brace" works.
