Pain Matters, the magazine for people living with chronic pain, contains news, features and comment on pain management, research into treatments and personal experiences of living with pain.

Inside issue 73...

We are delighted here at Pain Matters HQ to have the neuropathic pain team from University College London Hospital Pain Management Centre guest-editing issue 73. This edition of the magazine takes an in-depth look at all aspects of neuropathic pain, from what it is to how best to manage and treat it, taking in points of view from those living with it to the healthcare professionals trying to help them.

Also in issue 73, writer Robert Ilson describes his half-century struggle to find an answer to his facial pain, including all the treatments – traditional and not – gone by the wayside, before concluding that, sometimes, ‘living with pain can become a way of coping with pain’.

I’d love to read it as I have neuropathy BUT I’m no longer able to work because it disabled me.

Quite simply, I cannot afford to subscribe. I’m wondering who else now has money issues because they can no longer work?

Chronic pain destroys hope, independence and relationships.

I have a pile of your magazines. And get them out every so often. I have even left some in odd places for people to find. I listen to the pod casts when I am on a real downer,

Part of its therapeutic magic is just knowing others acknowledge the difficulties. they are like a hand on the back, doctors see me a a heart sink job. Can't blame them thier mission is to cure, tis a bugger having to face another gruelling day. And I am always up for any tips to lighten the gloom!

Crhonic pain is relentless as the years go by my resilience has been eroded. And worse of all its nicked by ability to bounce like a tigger,

Thanks for all you hard work, rock on,

Hi,

We are distributing the current magazine as we speak. We are a small charity who rely on volunteers so distribution is a task which does take some time. The first week or two after publication is also the busiest time, so we aim to have all the orders sent out within 2-3 weeks of purchase. We hope to decrease this time in the future but that is wholly dependent on having sufficient staffing and volunteers in place.

Apologies for the delay but rest assured your magazine will be with you in due course.
