Each issue of our Pain Matters magazine we give a prize for one star message. If you’d like the chance to get your hands on Mindfulness for Health by Vidyamala Burch and Dr Danny Penman email us at comment@painconcern.org.uk with your experiences of mindfulness or of any other techniques you've found useful in managing your pain.
You don't have to be a regular (or even occasional) reader to win the prize for star message - the main thing is to share your experiences with other people living in pain.
I'm new but think that peer support is vital. It's important to be able to communicate with others who understand. I think I'll be a frequent visitor to this site.
Thanks,

I would be concerned about giving out e-mail addresses to people we do not know!

Hi,
We don't publish email addresses and only Pain Concern staff and volunteers check the comment@painconcern.org.uk inbox - so your email details are safe with us!
Well I would suggest that learning to relax is so very important, because the tightening of the muscles all of a sudden can and does yank on the nerves pulling them into areas that they shouldn't go .
I've found that if you can learn to control your muscles, then movement becomes less of a problem as you move, pain is a great teacher and in the end you must listen to what it is saying, if you don't then you will stagnate and worsen, best Alex
