Welcome on board Puddings59

Did DWP received your paper work and subsequently lose it?

Have you kept a copy of everything?

Same here nightmare finally got enhanced daily and 8 points for mobility I have since had chronic scarring in a lung from ipf a twisted vertebrae and a broken vertebrae and gallstones so called about changes Do Not do this I've received new forms 40 pages of enhanced original questions I was going to forget it was thinkin not worth it but no I have to fill whole lot again if I don't within 3 weeks pip will be stopped

If you already get enhanced rate, there isn't any higher you can go, so why bother? I was taken off indefinite high rate DLA of 15 years, and put on standard PIP for 4 years, losing my car in the meantime and my independence, which is laugh given the name of PIP!

It is very easy for the DWP to mislay things. All the forms go to a central place where the mail is opened and forwarded to the correct department. That place is actually outsourced, so rather than have Royal Mail sort and deliver my forms direct to my local office in Chippenham, it is sent to Coventry, and the company there sorts it and sends it back down to Chippenham. Crazy.

My form went missing so they disallowed our PIP application and immediately cancelled the DLA. When I pointed out that it was their mistake they immediately reactivated the PIP application but there was nothing they could do about the DLA because of the way the law was written.

Did you take a copy of your form before you sent it in? Benefits and Work make really good guides to filling the forms in and they say to make sure you always copy your form before sending it in to make things easier if either it gets lost, or for when you have to renew it in a couple of years time.

Good luck!

It is utter nonsense. The whole system is computerized. Paperwork cannot be lost. The DWP in most cases is sent your report within 48hours. Do not be fobbed off. The DWP under the Data Protection act as a duty of care to protect information about you. If they have lost it then I would ring them and ask for an explanation. Personally I would make a complaint to the information commissioner office ( ICO) that they have failed in their duty of care regarding your information.
