Almost out of Gapapentine: Im almost out of my... - Pain Concern
Almost out of Gapapentine
If you have almost run out and don't get any more for 2 weeks then I must assume you have been taking more
There is no quick fix for stopping them. It must be done very slowly under guidance from you GP.
The best thing you can do is speak to him as soon as....whatever your reasons for taking extra are and tell him
I didnt over take them, someone else in my house has decided they need them more then i do
Sorry but that is totally unacceptable.
No one should take another person's medication no matter what the reason.
You can't just pop a few pills without consent or a script from a GP or consultant.
Is there any way you can stop this other person helping themselves? Or speak with them?
It can be dangerous especially with these meds.

Why are you out so soon??
Please speak to your gp and explain your situation.
This isn’t a drug you should abruptly go off of. If you need a higher dose you Must discuss with your doctor and have a safe plan. You can’t drive with the dizziness it is unsafe for you.
There is Lyrica another drug in this classification that could be stronger. That too you go slowly up and down on in small amounts. Both drugs take time and lots of support and care and do not skip a dose!
Call you doctor as soon as possible
I switched Pregabalin without any problems, perhaps they are similar. Good luck.
When you say you switched pregabalin, do you mean you changed to something else or stopped?
It was an immediate swop from Gabapentin to Pregabalin because my GP advised both drugs work similarly and Gabapentin could suit me better, and it does.
Hi Tandi-
Ouch, not good. You should contact your dr. so he can provide more pills to avoid withdrawal. Gabapentin, like Lyrica, are associated with severe withdrawal symptoms. You need to wean off if you are planning on getting off these meds. I cannot provide any other advice.
Call your GPand tell him obviously you have taken/need a higher dose or there was a mix up at the chemist either way make an appointment to see your doctor to explain the situation. Xx
