Over the last couple days I've had started getting some numbing pain and nigling pain that just won't go away I've tried over the counter meds and hot and cold type therapy but getting no were I've also started having spasms in my calf and thigh. Has anyone got any ideas for help I'd rather not go to hospital or doctors at this time of year.

Could be Paresthesia or a form of Neuropathy. I presume you've had no recent injury or trauma.

If Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen don't help, then a visit to a doctor would be in order 😁

I would warm my joints up with a covered hot water bottle and then once warm try some stretching exercises, I've had a lot of muscle pain over the years .

Thanks rabbits65 I've tried stuff like that with both hot Water bottles and ice pack but not getting any real results.

Try an Epsom salt bath. It has magnesium in it which should help. Also try Emergen C. It has antioxidants, electrolytes & magnesium.

2slipped disks which I didn’t know I had caused sciatica which caused pain across the butt, down the leg to calf and foot. Taking Ibuprofen helped and pain killers. Also turmeric tabs and non gluten bread etc. When pain was bad I found that massaging the area with a golf ball helped also keeping it warm with a hot water bottle and rest and gentle exercise is is important.

Yes, me too. Sounds like sciatica, problem originating in your back. Try some painkillers and not staying in the same position for too long. Gentle walking might help too. Good luck!

That shouldn't be too difficult. But thanks... I did break 4 ribs and my shoulder and collar bone 2 months ago. Witch and in the time I was injured did start getting some issues with my back... this starts to seem a lot more likely to what happend.

Thanks.

Pain97-

I’m not sure where your pain is, but I have the same thing happen to me. I have Psoriatic Arthritis, Psoriatic Spondylitis, Fibromyalgia and chronic headaches and migraines.

I have a chronic knot in my shoulder and when it’s at it’s worse my arm, hand and fingers sometimes go numb. I’m guessing it’s because when it swells it puts pressure on the nerve that runs down my arm. I have arthritis in my hips as well, and although I don’t have numbness in my legs, I do get the shooting pain.

I recently bought an acupressure “log” that has nodules; you put it under the painful area and allow the nodules to press into your trigger point. At first I didn’t think it was working, then I read an article which stated that chronic knots require pressure multiple times a day in order to release the top layers and eventually the bottom/deep muscles. I’ve had this knot for about 12 years and this is the first time I’ve got it to go down. If you can’t find an acupressure device, a readily available and cheaper option I have found to work is a tennis ball. Put it under the spot of the pain and lay on the floor or hard surface. Do this for as long as you can stand, and do it 3-4 times per day for several weeks. I really believe this will help. If you try it and it does work, please post and let me know- I’d love to hear! Good luck in your journey!

Thanks Amber. I think it mainly started from about 2 months ago when I collapsed at work were in the process I broke 4 ribs broke and rotated my collar bone and dislocated my shoulder... I think over time while they healed that I may have over compensated with my back and this is what may be causing the issue. My ribs and shoulder don't cause me any bother now. But it's over the last few days I've started getting pain in my leg just above the knee down were it feels like there is a lot of pressure there as well as a grinding type feeling. I'm also getting a lot of pain in the bottom half of my back to the point that I can't sit up properly without being in sever pain.

I will however give the treatment you tried ago because anything could help. It's just finding out what us happening.

Thanks 🙂🙂

I’m in similar pain like you and I’m looking for a good masseur to sort it out and give me some relief

From what I've seen online and heard from other people it seems to be a trapped nerve... I'm currently under a physiotherapist but with the time of year it's harder to get seen... but e broke 4 ribs and my collar bone as well as dislocating my shoulder, they said due to the broken ribs I was putting more pressure on my back witch more than likely would cause some issues over some time and with the cold here it's not helping. I did look at a masseuse but got told with my injuries a physio would be better.
