Sorry to hear that you are in so much pain. Perhaps you're surgeon is right however I would suggest getting a second opinion from another surgeon.

Sorry to hear, my father also had a failed knee replacement, he now has a rod from hip to ankle which has proven to be much better. How are your vitamin D levels? These need to be good for bone health as well as magnesium levels and calcium

It is not unusual for surgeons to be reluctant to revise an implant due to the risk of infection. That risk can be life threatening. It might be worth getting a second opinion, but they may well say the same. Are you getting any support from your GP surgery or a pain clinic to help you cope with this?

Hi, I have had the same problem since 2011, All the usual follow-ups including a failed dorsal root ganglion operation. I'm still in chronic pain. Now researching to find if anyone can perform denervation of the infrapatellar branch of the saphenous nerve in the knee. This is new unproven technology. But very difficult to find a consultant. Otherwise I am thinking of a mobility scooter. Best wishes for your search.

Hi Idramjet, lots of information on the internet: try searching for 'treatment to the infrapatellar branch of the saphenous nerve' or similar words. Best of luck with your search.

No he’s been ok since the rods were used luckily. Vitamin D works alongside calcium, magnesium and potassium to support muscles and bones. It is vital your levels are a good level for bone healing . Usually find vit d and magnesium run low together
