Waste of time and money

Want to waste your time? Have a sherrif, the the Aid crew insist that you go to the ER due to your soaring BP. Waste over 2 hours to be sent packing without even addressing the blood pressure. After all, deserve to die. Ha! Ha! Just a chronic pain sufferer.😕

If your BP was dangerous, you should have been seen immediately. Certainly anything over 180/100 would qualify in my experiance, or if you had any symptoms. Depending on your BP trend in the ER and your presant meds it's hard to say what treatment should have been.

I have MS and when i went for my yearly check mine was 173/115, and the nurse just said it was white coat syndrome which it is. I had it as high as 210/115 before and the doctors were not bothered. when mine is really it can just drop to normal in a few minutes.

It may be worth investing in a blood pressure cuff so you can check your own BP in more relaxed situation. Hopefully the docs checked on secondary signs of chronic hypertension such as seen on EKG, blood tests such as BUN , Creatnine, and physical exam such as the fundus of your eye, etc and any medication interactions.

Nothing but the broken blood pressure machine. Cuff wouldn't inflate. I have my own, plus the medics and ambulance crew confirmed it was high. I didn't want to go knowing the air of suspicion over pain patients, but they were insistent.

Mine has consistently running 230/100+ for over a month. Their machine wasn't working right, but nobody brought another one. Nobody monitored or examined anything. Got the message.

could be some of your pain meds causing it to spike.
