I took 'self survey' in 2017. I haven't been online here for ages & it was interesting to see my responses. It was also extremely disheartening to see that nothing much has changed. Except maybe for a movement toward a growing negative assessment of my pain (so called) management. I feel as though I'm in a whirlwind of confusion & pain - & hoplessness. Oh I'll keep plodding along, but at 62yrs I'm just feeling a little too weary.

Sick of myself
Don’t give up I know so most of the time I am going down the same path. Lately it’sed been a rocky road I to want to get off. But where on earth are you going to go. You know the other day I realized I need help getting in and out of the bath tube my son who is 21 years old, I need him to get my legs to get in and out of the tub I put my night gown on when I need him. I got up set that I needed his help. You know what he said to me, you know mom you helped me when I needed help it’s my turn to help you.
Live does stink when we get like this. keep on moving don’t let it get to you that much.
Thank you so very much for your encouraging (& lovely) reply. You have reminded me that its not just all about me - loved ones are an integral part of this rocky old road also. Warmest regards to you - & your beautiful son. Xx
I am in a similar situation, as every level of my spine has degenerated over thirty years. I used to say 'It could be worse, at least I don't have cancer!' Then I got cancer too..... It is not a?says easy to express just how bad chronic pain affects you and yes, sometimes you feel that you have had enough, but try anything that might help you psychologically, such as meditation or visualisation techniques.. What pain medication are you on? There may be somewhere to go, there. Best wishes, you are not alone x
Sorry to hear of the plight of both Luca4me and ssdw1958. Keep in holding on and best wishes to you both.x
Have you tried to get a neural stimulator? I've got one in my lower spine and it works! I have more info if you need it.
My husband has just had two leads into his spine and so far so good❤️
Brilliant! It'll get better and better. Where did he have it done?
He had it done in Guys in London ☺️
Ah I had mine at st Thomas, London
He had his two week program...whatever it is call ed😆 at St Thomas and then he just went to Guys for the Op then back to St Thomas for dressing change and plugged into computer for a trial. How long ago did you have yours done and how's it going xx
Hi I'm sure you are sick of being in pain. I am wondering where your pain is and what treatments you have had for it. Wishing you all the best.
