Lumbar lordosis : Hello, I am Debbie and new to... - Pain Concern
Lumbar lordosis
Poor you, its a very unfortunate condition. It may be, hopefully, your clinic will recommend a course of physio, before any more serious treatment. I have scoliosis ( caused by several spinal fusions ) which have left one leg shorter than the other 😬 and a protubing hip. Thats the end of the waistline! However, this is only a suggestion to start. Certainly, you must get care and help.
Hi I suffer with lordosis due to scoliosis posture training may be helpful, I really feel for you as it’s it’s a terrible condition with lots of pain xx
Hi DJ. I have degenerate lumbar scoliosis with stenosis (narrowing of the spinal canal) and a nerve impingement at 5/6 which was hard to find because it was underneath a large bone growth sticking out from the from the vertebra. I get virtually the same symptoms a you and have to use a wheelchair to get around as the trapped nerve has made my left leg more or less useless. It was diagnosed in 2010 and at that time the consultant offered a "nerve block" injection which, on further research proved to be a steroid injection. He also said there was a chance it wouldn't work or make things worse, and that surgery was out because of my age and other medical problems (i.e. diabetes and COPD). As a professional (I'm now well retired) I'd seen to people with too many steroid side effects which exacerbated mental health problems so I refused the injection. Effective pain relief for six years came from Pregabalin, making it easier to live with the condition. I stopped this in 2016 allowing me to become alert again and I now just live with the pain having developed relief strategies (e.g. sleeping upright in a reclining chair).
Oh I'm so sorry and your condition sounds so painful but I can well understand your refusal of injection ..Its so hard knowing the best way forward isn't it ?..I have heard of people having infusions in their back but that thought scares me ...Thank you for your reply and I feel for you having to live with such pain..
