Sorry to hear of your bone cancer, as I understand it this is a very painful type of cancer. You will need all your willpower to fight this. My heart goes out to you, we all think this won't happen to me but cancer can happen to anyone as can other illnesses. Thinking of you ,take care.

Hi Magaret. I am sorry you have had this diagnosis. I hope you are getting emotional support from family and friends. Urgent referral to the pain management team might help to give you strategies for managing the pain aside from medication. Meditation and relaxation techniques could help to reduce tension and aid pain relief.

On the pain side what medication are you on at the moment ? Have you discussed with your doctors the problem of poor pain relief ?

I am not sure about pain relief for cancer given the complications of possible treatment. What is the treatment plan at the moment ?

Best wishes for the journey ahead

Dee

Ask your GP to refer you to a pain management clinic for a course on helping you cope better.

Do you gave a local cancer support group that can help, too? There are some amazing charities around the country that could give you specific help.

Hi. I am so sorry to hear that you are suffering so badly. Pain is such a hard battle to fight and it sounds as though you will need all your inner strength to fight the cancer. Is there a Nurse at the clinic you attend who may be able to advise you?

I really do wish you well and hope you get the help you need. Take care, my thoughts are with you.

I'm really sorry to hear that. My dad had Cancer, and when it got into his bones he was in a lot of pain.

I'm no medic but I can tell you what worked for my dad. Extended release drugs & patches, such as Oxycodone (12 hour pill), Buprenorphine (7 day patch), Fentanyl (3 day patch) to handle the bulk of the pain. Plus take additional pain meds as needed (such Oxycodone & oral Morphine). People respond differently to different drugs so it really is a case of finding what works for you, most side effects such as dizziness & nausea reside in a few days.

You will probably get constipation when you take stronger opioid medications, so it might be wise to get some laxatives on hand.

I wish you the best.
