GP had send letter in support to speed surgery up6 month ago, had appointment with Anestisiology, who gave green light. I asked how muchlonger it will take and hesaidyoulookingat several month. I got to be honest i am at my end here, cannot walk, dress myself, work or perform any daily task, in utter pain and on morphine. Living in Wales......

I can totally sympathise with you, this is exactly how I was prior to my hip replacement. I am now three weeks post surgery.
The length of time you wait depends on you health authority. I waited approx six months..... in between, they tried everything, injections etc and nothing worked. I live in worcestershire but was sent to the royal orthopaedic in Birmingham. Once I saw the main man, he booked me in pretty quick.
In the end, I was on max dose of gabapentin, highest dose paracetamol and codeine and morphine patches and I was still in excruciating pain.
Once I actually got my date for surgery, they told me to phone daily to see if there were any cancellations. All I can advise you, if you know your consultant, is to keep calling them, make a nuisance of yourself, .........sometimes, those who shout the loudest!!!!!!!.
I feel a million times better already, still a bit sore and I have some swelling which I'm told is completely normal. But, to be rid of that awful pain is wonderful.
