I've not posted before but I really feel like I need some help. I've had an ongoing issue with my right wrist for over 7yrs now. It came on really bad, but settled down after 2-3 months then 2yrs ago it came back really badly and hasn't gone away. I am in pain every day. I have limited movement and can't hold my own weight on that wrist. I struggle to write, use a pc, phone, cook, exercise, get dressed, pick up anything heavy...the list goes on and on. The Drs have given me pain killers (that don't work), given me steroid injections, that give initial pain relief but never anything long term. I've have acupuncture and physio - neither have helped. I've done hot and cold treatments, rest (as much as you can with a right wrist when you're right handed), creams, changes in diet and massage, and I am still in pain all the time. It's ruining my life. I've been told there's 5 different things going on in my wrist and the Drs are being very unhelpful. I don't know what else to do? Sorry for the long whoa is me post.

So sorry you are in so much pain and being your right wrist, it must be so debilitating.
I've just had a hip replacement due to osteoarthritis. Prior to the surgery, I was in excruciating pain in my hip all the way down to my foot. I went to see a consultant at the royal orthopaedic hospital in Birmingham who explained that they were going to give me a steroid injection into the hip. He said this was part therapeutic, part diagnostic, meaning that if if worked, even if only for a day, they would know that it was definitely the hip bone. It did last, for just a day.........so they went ahead with the surgery.
Have you seen an orthopaedic specialist? Have you had xrays/MRI??
I think you definitely need to push to get some answers as something like that is affecting your whole life.
Thank you for your reply. I hope the hip replacement has helped to ease your pain.
I am currently under the care of a specialist and had X-rays and MRI last year which were inconclusive. The main issue he thinks is tendinitis which I seem to be prone to, as I also had surgery on my right hip for this back in 2011.
The problem is they are struggling to identify the root cause of the problem and as it flares up, there has been two occasions when I've gone in for a check up and it's been reasonably ok. I guess I could say I am lucky at the moment as I've got another appointment this week and I'm in the middle of a bad flare up. I need to try to not put on a brace face when I go in and be honest about how much it's ruining my life.
