Morning Jonj

You say you have been on Gabapentin for years and then changed to Pregabalin. Did you stop one and start the other with no break? What strength are you taking? And why did you change?

Both these drugs can cause memory loss and feeling of 'spaced out'. It is the main reason why some people stop taking them.

You had no problems on Gabapentin then?

Why did you change to Pregabalin?

OK so at least your GP is looking into reasons.

As I said it is a well known side effect of both drugs that makes you lose your memory but usually on a much lower dose.

My suggestion would be to change your meds completely but be warned...if you do you MUST come off Gabapentin very very slowly. Under guidance of your GP.

Have you been to pain clinic?

Fentanyl patches are excellent

Hi. I'm on 2700mg GABA. Per day. I have memory problems, confusion, forgetting mid sentence. It is really embarrassing but I have put up with it coz for me the gaba. is the best relief for pain I have tried. My father in law has recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer's and sometimes I think the side effects of gaba. are similar, in early stage Alzheimer's anyway.
