Hello Fellow Pain Victims!

I had a nasty accident about 3 years ago,I fell down some concrete steps and woke up about 20 minutes later.I was rushed to hospital where I underwent manipulation for my wrist, which I had smashed.I had an operation the following day and a fixator was fixed..My head felt as though it was going to explode for months after the original accidentMy hand looked like a red shiny udder for months after the operation.I started having pain in my left hand and was diagnosed with CRPS by a Physiotherapist and subsequently 2 doctors at a pain clinic.I recently underwent another operation to my wrist.I have battled severe head pains and constant pain in both my hands, neck etc

I have stopped taking medication for the pain because I felt like a zombie.I am between a rock and a hard place.

Hi CRPS really sucks!

It has my hand ,arm and shoulder so going through pain clinic and physio.

I have a shoulder injury but my consultant says no surgery as that can exacerbate the CRPS or make it spread so surprised to hear of your post diagnosis op.I take numerous meds as have other illnesses but can't tolerate the nerve blocking type drugs so the pain is unreal.Hoping the physio will bring some relief .I no longer have the shiny swelling as its turned to the cold sweats colour changing nightmare with fingers clawing

I hope you get some relief and improvement as really know how you feel.

Sorry to hear about your problems.CRPS is bizarre, inconsistent and burns like hell! The symptoms are so different and constantly change.I am keeping a pain diary and have found that it surprises me!

Yep arm in the deep fat fryer feeling is bad enough but every so often it feels like somebody keeps poking me with electric prod and then there's the spasms. Aaarrghh. If I wasnt already crazy I think this would have made me insane.

Take care .

Hi had crps for 5 years now in 2011I had my left arm amputated because of the crps, I had a car crash in 2013 and now I have crps in my right foot I been told that they will be amputating my foot in the new year to stopping it going up my leg, u said that u have stopped taking u meds go back to the pain specialist and ask him for some OxyContin that will help with the pain the side affects are not to bad

I am surprised that they amputated. I have asked many times for them to amputate, however I was told that, that would not rid me of the crps since it was a neurological condition. Some what like when people experience phantom pain after amputation.

Did you actually find that the pain in your left arm stopped once they amputated? If not then I would NOT let them touch your right foot!!!!!

RUN, RUN as fast as you can, away from these idiot doctors!!!

It is unfortunate that there are so many opinions about CRPS from doctors around the world!!! Some have never heard of it, others do not believe in it, and many have no idea how to treat it!!!! You would think that after almost 100 years that there would be more of a consensus on the existence of CRPS as well as the treatment.

I don't know about the rest of you, but many of us, ended up with CRPS lon term because it took so long to be diagnosed, and thus treated. AS with many other things, CRPS can be cured if caught and treated early enough!!!
