My pain management doctor believes my bursa is infected. I have been telling doctor after doctor for 6 months now that something is extremely wrong with my leg. I have chills, random fevers, leg swelling, and the most severe pain I have ever felt in my life. I have been discounted by doctors as a drug seeker or that I was over reacted. If this pans out to be true, and all signs are look so, I am not going to be happy. I had to quit my job teaching and it has pretty much stopped my life because of the continuous pain. This is a serious medical condition that can be life threatening if overlooked for too long. I have been blessed it hasn't gone into my bloodstream yet.

You would think will all this 'advertising' about Sepsis recently that doctors would Listen, Look and examine wouldn't you?

My husband was seriously neglected by GP and hospital once till he had Acute Renal Failure / Sepsis. He recovered well, thankfully.

Hope you get the correct treatment quickly.

Keep checking and noting your temperature. If it raises over 39 then I would call 999 for ambulance or at least Out-of-hours GP. Or get someone to take you to hospital.

If it reaches 40 then 999 ambulance.

All the best.

Please don't call an ambulance based on temperature. Ambulances are for IMMEDIATELY life threatening illnesses or injury. Temperature is no longer an indication of sepsis. Continually checking your temperature will only make you hyperaware and cause worry.

Check the signs of infection/SIRS and if needs be self present at A&E or out of hours.

What does you family doctor say about it? I too have severe bursitis on both hips. The pain is terrible but you do sound like you have an infection of some type. If all else fails, I'd go to the ER. They can find out if there is an infection and get you ready to remove that bursa sac or put you on antibiotic if there is time.
