I find it so frustrating that all of these specialist make your (mine, yours, whoever) health and quality of life in their hands and many time show no compassion or hurry to get anything done at all. I am a teacher. I am in agony. I have young children and an energetic husband. I feel desperate, because this pain has consumed my life. COMPLETELY COMSUMED everything I do and our family does. Should have seen us trying to figure out vacation. Would I be able to handle to walking on the sand. The beach is mine and my husband's favorite. I don't want this to rob that from me as well.
Waiting, waiting, and more waiting: I find it... - Pain Concern
Waiting, waiting, and more waiting
Can I ask what your condition is?
I know exactly how you feel! The pain seems to interfear in every decision you have to make in life and doctors seem to have no empathy in this respect. I would go for the holiday you fancy and just enjoy the parts you are able to enjoy. Your family will take this into consideration and I am sure work around the problems and if they see that you are having a good time that is good for everyone
Right now we aren't completely sure. We do no that I have two bulging disk, spinal stenosis, and disk degeneration. The thing that is causing me the most pain is my leg. From my hip to my knee, it feels like it is on fire!!! They now think this is being cause from trochanteric bursitis. I don't know anything about this condition, but if that is what it is I will tell you it is the worst pain I have ever had in my whole life!!!! I have a positive ANA and my sed rate is 87 so we know there is something VERY inflamed. I am currently waiting to get into pain management. I hope to get more answers soon. I am a teacher and it is hard to teach when you are in so much pain.
Hi, I am a teacher too and I know what you mean! When my pain is bad it is so easy to snap at my students for silly things and people often don't realise what an active job it is. I try to sit down from time to time in my lessons but depending on the class I'm teaching sometimes it's just not possible. What do you teach?
I have read some of the other posts. It is worth seeing an Alexander teacher. They should be able to help you cope with your situation better until the medics sort out what effective?? treatment they can offer you.
Alexander teachers teach people how to have better muscle control and posture. Muscle control and posture has a great deal of influence on pain control.
