The physiotherapist is the only person who can tell you what it is, it's not possible for us to tell you on here.

Is it long until you get it seen too?

I have that in a minor / lesser way, an X-ray may tell you more. As far as I'm aware Physios are not qualified to give a diagnosis. But an X-ray should show something.

Usually Osteoarthritis. Mine is the same, as is my spine. Vertibrae crunch and crackle when I move about and sometimes trap nerves. This is very painful.

My neck has pretty much cracked and crunched since I was born (congenital scoliosis). There's a reasonable chance that physiotherapy and targeted mobility exercises will help you if it's a musculoskeletal problem.

My neck always has and probably always will be noisy enough to make people wince but I'm fortunate in that I've been able to maintain as much mobility as is practical given the vertebral anomalies and fusions and the knock-on effect on my collar bones and shoulders. Basically, if the neck didn't make any noise it would probably be a sign that I couldn't move much.

I hope that physiotherapy is useful to you.

I have degenerative bone disease and tend to have some of the same issues. I would think you should have exrays or some tests to be sure as to what's going on. Take care.

I have degenerative disc disease and spondylosis, my neck cracks and crunches too and C5 & C6 disc is worn away causing impingement of nerves that run down both arms and hands. I do toning exercise s to try and keep muscles strong and keep moving, but I also get severe headache s daily too.
