Sorry to hear of your unbearable pain.

You're waiting for surgery in 4 weeks?

Is there anyone you can phone at the hospital about this? Were you given any paperwork? A letter about your admission or leaflet? There should be a phone number of the Nurse Practioner or waiting list co-ordinator on there.

If not , then phone the hospital and ask to speak to your Consultant's secretary.

OR

phone your GP practice and ask for urgent call back from GP or for doctor to come out to see you today. You shouldn't be dealing with this alone. Get doctor to call out. If it is still this bad - call doctors now. X

No,I will find out then if I need a operation. But less stiff today I think I was just having a bad day yesterday and my knee just got really stuck.😰but just the stiffness doesn't go away now so going to have to find ways to cope until then.

Is it a meniscus tear?

My GP thought I had that but the MRI scan showed Arthritis in the front of the Right knee cap.

I am still waiting for the results of the Left knee MRI.

Did it happen suddenly or as a sport injury.?

My problem is long term. I'm not having surgery but your condition of the knee sounds far worse than mine. Mine comes on suddenly but lasts only short time.

Hope you get it sorted .

One of the best ways of going on is to try and do something that you like doing and if you can just think of what you are doing the pain can be pushed to the back of your mind, I have had to live with chronic pain for many years after an accident in the army where I was crushed which caused damage to all of the joints in my legs, hips, back arms and neck also it broke my back in three places, as the years have passed it has slowly got worse until 16 years ago when I had to stop working as I was having too many back spasms each day now I struggle to stand up for more than a few minutes at a time also walking is very difficult most days I have trouble walking more than 5 to 10 meters.

When the pain is bad I try to think about people who are worse than I am which gives me a lift in attitude which whilst not lowering my own pain it puts it into perspective.

Good luck finding something that works for youone trick I was told is to pinch the skin between your thumb and finger which is a different pain and can tiger the production of endorphins which can help with all of the pain.

Regards Poppy Ann.
