As others will know from my previous posts I have lots of back problems and on various meds. Gp recent ly tried fentanyl 50 patchches with 20mg morphine 4hourly for breakthrough but that didn't help so back to 40mg slow release of oxycodone twice a day with 15mls oxymoron liquid 4hourly. For breakthrough neither are controlling pain and to make matters worse my mum is basically dying in hospital with double pneumonia a and heart failure.we got a call to go over tonight but is now more settled so all 5 of us now come back home. All a waiting game at mo!!!!horrible time with lots of pain too!!!!

Hi

Your story rings so true to mine it's unreal. It's nearly 9 years ago since I started with back problems and 8 operations later microdisectomies, I jection see, fusions and finally a spinal stimulator fitted in 2014 I'm where I am now, why it rings true is because when I was in hospital having my first operation my mum was diagnosed with lung cancer, five years down the line she passed away, it was such a hard time for my self and my mum,i couldn't help her and she couldnt help me and I remember when I'd had one operation I got a terrible water work infection and couldn't go see her for six weeks it was breaking my heart, she was then in a hospice and they were going to see if they could set up Skype, my husband used to go on my behalf bless him but it wasn't the same. I eventually became well enough to go see her so in my wheelchair I went as a surprise. It broke my heart every time I went. Cherish every moment you can with your mum, five years ago just before Xmas she passed away. My husband and children were amazing, keep going as it's the memories that live on. You look after yourself and your lovely mum, love her, do what you can for her but most of all just be there for her. Sending love.

So sorry for you & will be thinking about you all &'your mum 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻

In my experience it'll be the stress that's amplifying the pain.

I'm always grumpy because of the pain and I have often noticed that if I get stressed my pain starts getting worse.

I'm afraid its a viscious circle..... keep strong.

Steve.

Poor you, is it any wonder the meds are not working? I think you need a miracle or two and if I could send them to you, I would. Instead I wish you a long reprieve from your pain and comfort and peace of mind to your dear mum. I'm sure others here will join me in well wishes.
