Multiple Sclerosis sensory pain in legs.

Hello. I'm 44years old and was diagnosed with MS in 2007. My main problem at the moment is sensory pain in both legs. I am currently taking liquid morphine to control this pain but I then feel completely fuzzy in my head. I can't mobilise without worrying I'm going to fall and feel drowsy all the time.

Does anyone else feel this way??

Hello Kal1972 and welcome to the pain forum.

The trouble with strong pain meds is always their side effects. Less pain usually = less function. Sometimes it is a juggling act to find a level of pain you can live with yet still have a semblance of 'normality'.

Pain clinics can help with this but mostly it is trial and error.

Do you have anything to support you when you stand up? Indoor rolator? Zimmer frame, don't laugh, they can steady you and give you confidence. And they help you move around the house? Sticks can help but won't stop you falling.

Alternatively you could speak with your GP, tell him what is happening and maybe he could try you on something else.

Hope this helps

Yes, Kal1972

I truly understand your concerns and difficulties. I cared for a women who was one of the nicest people I've had the pleasure to get to kmow, amazingly graceful, lovely, and was pretty darn funny too, leaving me at times almost peeing myself when she just hung loose...fabulous sense of humor and I sure did applaud her will and we laughed as much as possible. Like yourself she had MS and started to have a difficult time with her balance.

I wanted to let you know that from the caregiver aspect I understand. It can be a difficult road. Hang on to those who truly care ♡, ditch anyone who doesn't.

Do you have family and or friends around to support you? Support is such a valuable asset if it is available for you.

XO

I've tried morphine patches ( 50mcg over 3 days). No pain relief at all! Now on morphegic tablets ( 10mg twice daily). Again not providing relief from sensory pain or cramps). Has anyone tried vaping cannabis?? On synthetic cannabis?? Spoke to a friend who also has progressive MS and she says that helps with all her pain relief issues. I'm going to ask about Quine for leg cramps. 😊
