Home grown pain relief.

Life here on the beautiful sunshine island wanders along at its gentle pace. Time is irrelevant for the most. The village clock strikes mid day about ten too 12 - when it feels like it.

The sun rises each morning a little further south and sets over the sea opposite our Villa. Some stunning sunsets too. Dark by 6.30 then everywhere lit up with zillions of street lights. Yes very gentle.

Still in shorts and flop flips although evenings do require a cardie and jogging bottoms. David feels the cold more than most so I have been out to an auction and bought a brand new coal effect fire and surround.. Now borrowing friend plus her car to get it all home. Bus would take it but with a change in the middle even I would find it challenging.

David is in desperate need of his spinal jags. Had to wait to get medical registration before GP would even talk about seeing the pain consultant. With the amounts of paper work needed,, copies of copies, and the surgeries policy of really only seeing your allocated GP it all takes.........time. We are getting close though. My eye op will be dealt with through local optician where I have an appointment on Boxing Day.

So....with that in mind I asked a few questions around the bazaars. Growing cannabis for home consumption in a Private house is ignored. Growing it in the middle of a banana plantation is not. Ordered my seeds and will now put my horticultural fingers to a new use. As to when to harvest and what comes after I have no idea but sure someone will tell me!!

I assume that your appointment at the opticians is for an examination and form filling. Surely they don't perform surgery there ?

The cold has started to bite here Pat. The Oramorph never seems to last as long. I hope David gets his injections soon.

BTW what does your coal effect fire burn so as to provide heat or are you just going to warm David by psychology? Just turn the glow effect on.

Nothing would surprise me here my friend!! My GP has all my notes from Scotland and I hoped he would refer me thus bypassing the optician.

Strange how quickly the human body can acclimatize to what would be a very comfortable temperature in UK summer. Yet midwinter at 17c seems chilly. It is electric!! But just the glow with no heat IS psychologically very effective.

Keep safe

I,m here in Bonnie Scotland and only have a balcony but could some seeds in pot, don,t know if legal but would try anything for pain in SI Joint, trying to come off dihydrocodeine because of sweating, excessive! I know what it,s like to be cold all the time, been told it,s the Beta blockers. All the best to you both.

We left Scotland to come here so know all too well how cold it gets! Unfortunately cannabis needs regular heat at quite a high temperature. Outside would just be too cold.

Have you tried Cannabidio? It has all the nasty bits taken out and leaves only the medicinal side. Have a look on Amazon. Others on this forum have used it with varying amounts of success

Hello Paton, nice to here all about your new regime. Thats good that you can grow cannabis legally / is ignored. It does work on pain , good luck with your new horticultural ventures. Best wishes for the opticians in a few weeks. Happy Christmas and maybe a pain free new year with your results of the new gardening venture xx

Thanks Katie - it is what to do when they have grown which is unknown. Might end up with some beautiful, but smelly, house plants!!

Quite possible, would the smell be enough I wonder, thought the oil was what worked so guess there is some process to extract this. The other must be to smoke dried leaves, no idea sorry, take care xx

When growing your own you have to harvest the whole kit and caboodle. Female plants produce the flowers which is the harvested bit. Growerd have crossed plants so you can get male and female in same plant. Big word cant spell!!

I have just learnt all this this morning. Discrete friends!!

Hello Paton

I,ve been growing my own for years .Look for feminised automatic seeds ,they are very forgiving you dont need to mess around with light levels etc. You are guaranteed the flower buds that you want and they are usually ready to harvest in 20 weeks unlike the other types of seed which can take ages plus they are smaller plants(around a metre) and a little more discreet than the huge 10 footers .wishing you a bumper harvest Fiona xx

Hello fvee,

I hope that you are not in the UK and cultivating cannabis.

Despite calls for a review, it is still illegal. If caught, you will get a criminal record. This may prove to be embarrassing and you would have to declare it to your employers if you worked in certain occupations.

Having a drugs conviction will make it very difficult to travel to places such as the U.S., Australia and New Zealand amongst others.

Just a bit of friendly advice.

Best wishes,

Dave

Hello Paton,

I am so glad to hear the the sunshine is of benefit to you and David.

It does not surprise me at all to learn that.

Hopefully you will both get sorted out soon with the injections and operation.

Best wishes,

Dave

17℃ is chilly; sounds awful!!! Time passing by slow, slow, slow, slow, slow; sounds horrendous!! Personal cannabis growing ignored; sounds unbearable!!

Stop with the teasing will ya please - I can't take it any longer Pat.......

Interesting that the optician is going to do your eye operation; I'm imagining one of those towns where one person does everything - bakes the morning bread, pulls out someone's tooth, opens the little supermarket, carries out someone's colonic irrigation, opens the post office for an hour, feeds the pigs, puts fuel in the cars, cuts someone's hair, etc etc etc (giggles)

Pity they can't do David's injections though!! The sub relaxed way of life and paperwork obsession is proving to be one of the downsides to moving away hey?! I'm sure they'll get there eventually; he may have to make do with your freshly baked hash cakes in the meantime; you never know, they might be all he needs!!!
