pain and how to cope.

a couple of weeks ago I sat down with family and had a sunday meal within minutes I was bent over in severe pain,my mind was doing overtime as I lost both parents to cancer and now I'm 53 which is the same age my dad had been diagnosed with stomach cancer.im a worrier.on the Monday I went to my GP who knows everything about my health issues.

I have had Stevens Johnson Syndrome for 30 yrs and run the only support group in Scotland for that,i also have severe arthritis which deems how far I can walk and usually by dinnertime I'm done I can't do much more.

so my GP took blood for testing and I soon felt even more unwell fatigue, headaches, nausia, severe stomach pain, blurry vision and really bad indigestion he rushed the blood tests through I was put on ranitidine 2x a day the pain has been more manageable since ive been on them but the more serious one is I have a underactive thyroid so I'm now on levothyroxine for that for the rest of my life.

I have to admit there isn't a lot of support in Scotland for the likes of me who has so many health issues. One thing I am changing is my food intake,i have decided to get rid of gluten out of my food and going a little more fruit and veg.

so here I am I would love for anyone, anywhere to get intouch write about your lifes health problems,be supportive and get support too talk to me and anyone that needs a shoulder to cry on.be a online friend full of support and understanding.

I'm sorry to hear all of this. I'm from Croatia and doctors are out of knowledge here, too. I only 22 years old boy and I am suffering from urethritis/cystitis/prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome. I have severe urination problems, sexual dysfunction and I cannot sit for 5 minutes because it aggravates my pain. Pain is always present in the abdomen, genitals, penis, anus, buttocks, low back, pelvis and sometimes in upper tighs. It killed my life honestly.

you must feel very limited in your life,i understand living with chronic pain can be draining, family although they are there for you there is only so much they can take of it,thats why I feel its important to be able to reach out to those of us who need support.you are very young to have to cope with this, what can be done in pain management for you?

I think nothing can be done except injections for nerve blocking and surgery as a last resort.

Having pain in your upper thighs, lower back, not being able to sit for long and buttock pain, might be down to having low/deficient vitamin D, not saying it is but once I was on a high safe dose of vitamin D3 all those pains went almost overnight. Maybe some of the other symptoms are related too ?

I don't know what is happening but I will try high doses of vitamin C and D, I ordered them already.

Make sure you take vitamin D3 (I take a safe high dose of 5000iu) a lower dose of 1000iu which I initially took did not work for very long and all pains came back again.

For safe high doses vitamindcouncil.com and to see all the medical conditions and illnesses vitamin D prevents.

I will actually take 100000 iu of vitamin D and 10 grams of vitamin C on a daily basis.

Are you sure you are want to take 100,000iu of vitamin D BaneBane2424 ? Please check you have got the amount of 0's right It is easy to add a few more 0's on. :)

100,000iu is far too high, anything at 10,000 iu or over daily needs blood testing did you know ?

5000iu of vitamin D3 was all I needed to get rid of all my pains.

Vitamin A is fat soluble and your body cannot get rid of the build up of vitamin D3 the same as it it can with water soluble vitamins like the vitamin B's.

Remember to take vitamin D3 with K2, K2 takes calcium to where it should be in your body and out of where it should not be, to prevent build up of calcium.

Both D3 and K2 should be taken with foods that have fat in them.

Please let me know if taking vitamin D3 helps any of your symptoms BaneBane2424, I do hope you have some relief soon. :)

I like your post. I can relate I can't walk too far and have to vary sitting, standing, slow walking to stay comfortable. Getting rid of gluten is a great move, I dropped gluten and sugar from my diet, now I think I notice I flare if I have this. It helped with weight too. Mine is an rare nerve condition in spine that I am starting to suspect is inflammatory at times and the severe endometriosis. I just keep moving about to stay comfortable and it keeps me going. I too live in a regional area and find I have to make difficult choices with finances and health care. I have heard you need to be careful with diet for thyroid issues too. It sounds like you have been through alot already. Best of luck

I, too, enjoyed nice appearance, but now have to wear baggy pants and orthopedic shoes due to nerve pain. So get out some color, a new lipstick, and flashy earrings!

Good (and not good,) to hear that you have been diagnosed with Hypothyroidism,

(low or under active thyroid,) but you are one of the lucky ones megsplace, you might not think so at the moment, but many more Hypos are overlooked or missed, down to relying on the unreliable bloods.

If you don't already know, - you need to make sure you are 'optimall'y medicated. If you feel you need more Levo do ask, I had to keep pushing my Doctor otherwise I would still be ill. I now medicate myself. The fatigue and headaches (Brain Fog maybe ?) should go away once optimally medicated. If you need extra help with low thyroid there is 'Thyroid UK' forum on here too, I belong to several brilliant Health Unlocked sites to help my family members and myself.

this has been a cracker of a week I was given stomach meds for pain and bloods taken and that came back with underactive thyroid, so more meds, then yesterday I spent all afternoon on and off loo went to see dr I have cystitis so more meds now I'm sitting here with shocking headache and typing with one less finger, I cut the top of my finger off with slicer while doing veg for dinner.so shall I just go to bed and stay there till 2017 or just scream at myself for being a complete disaster.im meant to be looking after my 3 yr old granddaughter tomorrow. I must admit this headache is hellish ive had it for weeks now doc says it will go away once my thyroid meds kick in,ive been taking them for 4 days now. I took paracetamol last night but felt sick afterwards.
