I have not been on much I am back to work and am exhausted by the end of the day. I am having bunion surgery next month . For pain management they mentioned taking Hydromorph . I have been taking Dilodid ( spelling is horrible sorry ) for my server back issues. Was just wondering what everyone else is taking and what helps the most ? Thankyou
Janice.

Morning Grizzly7168 Sorry I don't know those medications. Are they opiate based ? What is the problem with your back ? I assume that the pain medication is for your bac k problems not the bunions.
Hi Grizzly7168. Am I right in thinking you are in the US? My sister was on Dialaudid (called Palladone over here) and she said it was very good. It is very difficult to get put on to over here. I am not sure about hydromorphine, but it sounds like you are on some punchy pain meds and I am not surprised that you are exhausted. You do not say what dosages you are on and I would be interested to know as I too have severe back and other arthritis issues. I am on Fentanyl 100mcg per hour patch which is woefully inadequate. I hope your bunion op goes well as bursitis is extremely painful. If you have been on these meds for a long time, maybe a change to something else may help? I would hang on to the Dialaudid though! With all good wishes. Lana.
Bunion surgery has a habit of having long term problems. Wonderful cure for short term. Long term many surgeons do not have records. There is no record keeping as once you are discharged they never hear about your progress or lack of progress.
Painful bunions can be a result of dysfunctional walking. Socks also have an influence. Posture and muscle usage could be putting pressure on the wrong places of the foot.
See an Alexander Teacher. They may be able to show you another way of coping that in the long term could be far more beneficial.
