It's not easy Paulapips64.

Don't be hard on yourself. Giving up smoking is a huge thing for your body to go through. Weight gain is common because smoking suppresses the appetite.

Try and eat healthily, lots of calorie less foods like salad, celery, cucumber. Even have a glass of water if you feel hungry, sometimes we are thirsty but feel hungry. It will fill your stomach, so if you still feel hungry, you will eat less.

It's going to take time, so try not to worry about the day to day things but look at the long term plan.

There's a great app called noom that helps you look at lifestyle changes. It records food intake, exercise etc, but also has wee challenges to do to keep it fun. Theres a great support forum too.

Hi I know what you mean. I've done 7 weeks and put on a stone. With my back and leg problems I can't really exercise and so just started to eat a lot better. Mainly diet milkshakes soup and breakfast bars and fruit. I guess I'll see how it goes in a couple weeks. Try to find something you enjoy like reading or craft work something so you can feel good about yourself be happy and boost your confidence.
