Hi there Saxon84,

Not sure if this the answer you are expecting, and I make these comments as a sufferer NOT as a Dr. or any sort of healthcare professional.

Some 15 years ago ( I am now 71) I tore my right knee cartilage. Surgeon went in for a clean up job using the keyhole technique and found the onset of osteoarthritis.

In a few weeks (on 6 Nov) I am having a partial knee replacement.

Over the years the osteoarthritis has worsened and has now created the need for the latest surgery. At times I find the pain unbelieveable. The pain itself seems to vary in intensity and vary in location. Mostly though on the boney bit on the inside of the knee. Xrays have shown this is the OA and indeed because of wear over time the two long bones (tibia and femur - I think !) are now rubbing on each other. Unless I drug myself stupid with pain killers the only real relief I get is from resting up and putting a hot water bottle on the knee. Or if I'm out and about put Cura Heat knee heat pads around the knee (available from most good chemists).

So, yes I had 15/16 years of success but now the chooks have come home to roost. Interestingly, my pain is worse when the weather changes from warm, sunny and dry, to moist and low barometric pressure and rain. BUT, only when the change is happening. When it is actually raining the pain disappears.

It wouldn't surprise me if you are beginning what I started when I was much younger than you.

Good luck and hope this helps.

John
