I have this but I have pins and needles in my feet all the time mine is a trapped nerve
I have pins and needles all the time in my feet and toes its just I play guitar and the whole leg goes numb only on my left side
Hi Orwell I have been having spine block now for some years and I also think that might play a part in my pins and needles in my feet
Hi Orwell,
Since last Tuesday I've been having severe pain in my left leg too.
It started with pain down the centre of my leg first, and now it seem to be on the side of the leg going into my foot. But it feels like the pain is making my foot numb.
I went to the doctors on Friday and he pressed all over my leg which hurt like mad, but he gave me some inflammatory's and said the muscles were inflamed.
But it's really getting me down now so I know how you feel. I even had to sit up sleeping as it hurt to lay down, I just couldn't put it in a comfortable position, so I've felt tired more lately what with the pain but I don't think I'm getting a good night's sleep either.
I suggest you go back to your gp and keep asking for advice.
I hope you get it sorted.
Xxxx
Had physio hydro seen specialist they won't operation on me can't find a spot too foot specialist next the pain in my left side has been there since 2014
I have found out after 3 years, I have a lumbar spinal stenosis (genetic, apparently) which initially gave me severe pain in deep in my right buttock. Now, my feet go numb if I stand still for more than a few minutes and I have tight calves and feathery/ tingling feelings down both legs. Had an MRI scan and saw a specialist last month who offered me surgery. No injections as I thought. He gave me 70% chance of improvement with a warning that if it goes wrong I could be left doubly incontinent. Not sure what to do. I also have an op for a torn meniscus in my arthritic knee in a couple of weeks. I'm going to opt for physio for my back, hoping that if I can get my knee sorted, my body might manage the pain better. Also diagnosed with fibro last month. Have to dig deep and fight through.
Enjoying Wimbledon on Tv for a while!
It's awful the pain is there all the time no matter what I take or do now I getting bad neck pain at the top of my shoulders
We watch the tennis only the final lol
Hope you get sorted chronic back pain is hell
See a McTimony Chiropractor and Alexander Teacher.
Have you had an MRI yet?
MRI came back with longstanding DDD at lumbosacral junction ie the lower most mobile level in my lumbar spine
Thanks for the reply.
Googled "DDD at lumbosacral junction".
Nothing I suggest will cure the problem. I do have some suggestions which may or may not be helpful.
In about 2005 I had a problem where my legs used to give way. I spoke to my McTimony chiropractor about the problem. (I have been getting chiropractic treatment on the NHS since 1994). The chiropractor showed me that the muscles in my legs were too tight and were pulling the lower vertebrate onto the nerve roots. I do a lot of cycling. The treatment I had for this problem was for the McTimony chiropractor to stretch my leg muscles as part of other treatment she does. This treatment removed the problem.
My understanding of how discs receive nutrient is by diffusion and compression and decompression type movements around the disk. If this movement ceases because a muscle attached to a disc decides to go into spasm the disc will stop receiving nutrient and start to degenerate from nutrient starvation.
My McTimony chiropractic treatment over the years has demonstrated to me time and time again how easy it is for muscles attached to vertebrate can go into spasm.
It is worth exploring some sessions with a McTimony chiropractor to release in muscle spasm in the back to get the back moving again. You can follow this up with Alexander Technique lessons to help improve any postural problems you may have. The improvement in posture will not cure the problem. The posture improvement will help with teh problems of pain and discomfort. The sensitivity you will develop from the Alexander Technique lessons will help you detect when a muscle is about to go into spasm and enable you to something about it.
I also do Mindfulness and Meditation (the Buddhist version). I find this helps me to be more aware of what I am doing and helps me not make any pain I experience any worse.
I have extended discs in the neck with nerve root impingement. I use a variety of techniques to deal with the pain and discomfort issues.
Hope this has been helpful.
Thanks John for the info I found nothing when I get letter
Lumbosacral joint is L5 S1 spine - health .com is a useful site explains everything
Thanks John for your interesting post. This sounds promising. I already see a Body Stress Release therapist every 2/3 weeks (which is based on chiropractic techniques). I will look into the McTimony/Alexander techniques too. I have been told my discs showed very dark on the MRI indicating dehydration due to age/wear and tear. Can't just drink more to help them according to my orthopaedic surgeon!
Yesterday my 90 yr.old friend fell when hip and leg went numb. Emergency Hospital would not tell me anything since I was not related. Anyone have possible diagnosis?
