BACK ACHE!: Any suggestions for back pain?! I... - Pain Concern
BACK ACHE!
Hi Gcake. I am sorry to hear that you are in pain. I don't really know what to suggest as you don't say why your back is hurting. Nor what pain relief your Doc is suggesting. Although 3 hourly seems an odd interval.
Relieving pain often depends upon whether it is muscular, skeletal or nerve pain. Can you give us more info please and hopefully someone can be of help.
Regards Rib
Try heat, a hot water bottle or wheat bag. Topical ointments like Deep Heat or Radian B help too. Has your doctor given you just painkillers or has he given you anti-inflamatories too? I don't know of any that can be taken 3 hourly, most are 4 hourly.
I use Ibuprofen Gel, Paracetamol and hot water bottle. When you feel like you can , lie on the floor and then bring your knees ( hold them) up towards your chest, count slowly to 10 and slowly release and repeat. Do that twice a day it decompresses your vertebrae apparently. It does help.
Could it be a kidney????
Hot waterbottle or a cold ice pack always works for me never heard of every 3 hours I've always taking mine every 4 hours
Sorry to hear about the pain. How it started, I mean, is it because of any accident, or is it the type of work you do? I had severe back pain for couple of months because of my long hours of work. I'm into software development and one can find me always in front of my MAC. I tried many meds but gave only temporary relief. It was physiotherapy that saved me from the pain. I went for few sessions of physiotherapy at Dynamic Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic dynamicphysiotherapy.ca/ and after that with the advice of my physio I also changed by working posture, did some short exercises and at times I take a walk around my work place. These actually lessened the stress in my body and now I don't have the problem.
But that's just my story, if the pain is too much better get it scanned and confirmed the problem, and if it is the disc then you better start your treatment at the earliest, before it worsens.
