Hello ive joined this site for a lil 411 on everything but mainly to see if i can have some one respond with answers to help me out. I woke up today with the right side of my head down to my neck all of the right side pretty much is sore & tender to the touch like if i was banged and bruised but no injuries it hurt very badly and i was curious if anyone can tell me what could cause a pain of that kind. I have no insurance ad of now. So drs isnt in the future til i fix the problem. Any feed back is appreciated unless its rude thanks in advance!

hiya, it really does sound as if you have a possible neck problem.
Start with the basics and check the pillows and your sleeping positions. I know it sounds simplistic but the fact it is happening in the morning seems related to cause. It may well be muscle, bone, disc or nerve, but if you can find a way to relieve or prevent the morning pain, you may narrow down the cause.
It sounds as though you might be in US, and I can't remember specific drugs but try to get an anti inflammatory painkiller like ibrufen or aspirin (if allowed) and take small doses regularly - thats the important bit, to reduce any inflammation and pressure over time (?weeks) and give your body a chance to heal.
Keep a careful check on these things;
pain / tingling down arm or fingers
dizzyness
high tempurature
skin free from swelling
facial features normal
if any of these occur, please reconsider a dr appointment - do you have any community clinics where you are?
You might also look carefully at the amount of stress you are under if your migraines are increasing? and tension will definitely tighten other muscles and aggravate problems
I'm no expert or have training - these are only suggestions because I want to try to help someone in pain, especially when they are struggling to self care. Hope your day goes better.
hello thanks for the response it is greatly appreciated! The pain i woke up with started when i woke up but lasted the whole day and til this second is still there its wierd because its only the right side of my face including neck, scalp, lips, eye lids,
Its not a sharp pain its more like a tenderness example:when you smash or hit your body and the following day you touch and it aches thats sorta the way to explain the pain i feel. I didnt have any injuries i just woke like that also forgot to mention i did have a slight fever yday!
You could have Fibromyalgia. Google the symptoms and see if they fit the way you are feeling. The back of my head, shoulders, and neck stay in knots of pain. Hope this helps, if not hope you get the helps you need sweetheart!!! xxx Mitzi
Yes Sweetheart there is. The doctor checks your body for tender points. I never even knew when being tested that I had so many of them as I don't touch them daily. As I have gotten older the tender points are now more painful. If you get checked and have Fibromyalgia I'd ask to be referred to a pain clinic. They can access your pain and get you the meds you need. Good luck and if I can help answer any more questions just let me know sweetheart. Hang in there and good luck!!! xxx Mitzi
Neck problem, hemiplegic migraine, stroke, virus ....... could be anything at all, but we aren't doctors. I think the only way you are going to know is to find a doctor or clinic somehow and get checked out.
hi vane193 I have had similar pain that you describe but mine mostly stems from my shoulder down my forearm and into my fingers. The pain can be excruciating and the upper part of the arm was very sensitive to touch as though I had hit it but there was no visible bruises scarring. The doctor initially said I had calcific tendonitis. He later changed that diagnosis to Osteto arthritis. He has prescribed anti inflammatories for me. maybe you can find a free clinic and your city every city has clinic that you can go to without medical coverage good luck. Don't let that pain consume you. When mine is in flare up i can't even dress myself. I'm only 50. And i do work out. Good luck my dear.
Well thanks for the response it is truly appreciated. Yes im trying to get as much info. As possible from people who has either already expierenced or is expierencing the same symptoms so that way i can narrow down and have them test some possibilities. Also any way to mellow out or stop the pain til i can mske it in to my dr. I am only 24 yrs old and i have a family prone to alot of medical problems but mostly heart, liver & kidney problems.
I am hoping its nothing but with as much pain i go thru in 1 week i'd prefer to just face my problems now and get some relief. I have put up with and ignored for to long.
